Sunday 9th September at 8.00 am all the accumulated rubbish on the beach will be collected from the sea. Any help to move the bags down to the water line will be much appreciated. Below is one of the piles collected last year.

Bring a flask of tea or coffee and make a morning of it.



Next Committee Meeting

Don’t forget the next committee meeting will be held on Monday 17th September.

If you have anything you want raised please let someone on the committee know before the 2nd September, the agenda will be published in advance of the meeting so that you can comment on any items raised.

What’s On

Jan Jones continues to put together a very useful “What’s On” in Rousdon and the surrounding areas. The latest update covering July to November this year has been emailed out by Jan and a copy has been uploaded here.

ROAR Annual BBQ at Rousdon Lake, behind St Pancras Church

Sunday 8 July in the afternoon from 1.30 – 6pm

There will be live music by Eight 2 The Bar, an 8-piece band that plays songs from the 60s and 70s as well as by Pete Higgins. Bring your own drinks but glasses will be provided. Please book as soon as possible and preferably by email with Sylvia Stride email: OR Jan Jones email: Adults £15; Children (aged 7-14) £5; Under 7s free. The price includes BBQ with all the trimmings by V. E. Sims Catering, strawberries and cream and live entertainment. The deadline for tickets is Wednesday 27 June.

In the Rousdoner section, nature supplements from Tony Cox have been uploaded after interest was expressed by many at the AGM in getting a copy. They can be found here.


Many of you will have started receiving leaflets through the post from Gigaclear.

We were scheduled to get their fibre to the home service in 2020, building starting at the end of 2019.  It now seems that delivery is scheduled to start this autumn and that the service will be up and running by March 2019, dates may of course change.  The link below explains.
If you haven’t done so already you can use their postcode checker to check your property is in scope and to register. There is also a connection guide online which you may want to peruse, the delivery of fibre to individual properties can be potentially disruptive.
